Our Story

ACW Plastic Products, Inc. dba Advantage Plastic Products (“APP”) is a four-generation family owned and operated plastic molding company specializing in mold design, mold‐making, plastics and injection molding.

The original business was established in 1917 by founder, Max Krauss, great grandfather of current the Owners. At the end of World War I, Max purchased a warehouse filled with excess military boots, and as a result, the company began as a distributor of various military textile products. Max stripped the shoe laces off of the boots and eventually sold the laces at a profit.

At that time, the business was located at 374 Broadway in lower Manhattan and later relocated to the garment and textile district of Manhattan to better serve the growing domestic apparel industry. The business did not sell molded plastic parts. Unfortunately, Max passed away at an early age and in 1950, his son Jack Krauss took over the business at just 28 years of age. Eventually, domestic manufacturing shifted away from apparel to industrial goods.

Mark Krauss purchased the business from his father, Jack and quickly expanded operations from a distributor to a global manufacturer producing and selling molded plastic parts. 

In 2019, Mark, acquired Advantage Plastic Products (“APP”). The new entity now operates under the name ACW Plastic Products, Inc. (APP), dba Advantage Plastic Products.

TIMELINE 

  • APP incorporated in 1997 and commenced operations on April of 1998 in Manchester, NH. Since that time APP has built a loyal customer base through their experience, ingenuity, and commitment to quality service and technical support.
  • In July 2008, APP moved into its current manufacturing plant in Concord, NH.
  • In January 2017, APP implemented IQMS, a new ERP software system for real-time monitoring and increased efficiency across all aspects of the organization.
  • In 2018, APP completed construction of a 10,000 square-foot addition. 
  • On December 31st, 2019, Mark Krauss, Owner of American Cord & Webbing Co., Inc. (“ACW”) acquired Advantage Plastic Products (“APP”). The new entity operates under the name ACW Plastic Products, Inc. (APP), dba Advantage Plastic Products.
